I just love music… and I’ve been deejaying since 1987. I love to share my passion, teach anyone who loves it! 🔊 I can recall my passion for spinning records began in 1987 when I started working for my parents at their roller skating rink… picking through their massive collection of pop, disco, funk, and new wave singles. So, music has always been a part of me and I cannot imagine my life to be otherwise.
Through the years of working at dance clubs and bars, I’ve come to really enjoy my time working at weddings; I’ve been a part of many weddings in Portland, Oregon including destination weddings as recently as San Juan, Puerto Rico. When a bride and groom tell me that everyone enjoyed the music I played for their guests and speak of my professionalism, it makes me want to get even better and better.
Weddings to me are about family from the little kids that come ask for my name — then ask me again if my name is really “Sugar” (LOL) — to the grandparents who can still cut it up on the dance floor… it all makes me smile and truly appreciate my life and what I get to do for a living. I’ve been known to go over and beyond my call of duty, but when you’re passionate about something you just can’t help it!
P.S. Yes, my name really is Sugar Robinson. 😉
